We are talking today about back pain.

What Causes Back Pain?

There are a number of reasons for misalignment such as poor postural habits, car crashes, sports injuries, lifting things wrong, or exercising improperly. Some common symptoms we see when those things happen is Low Back Pain, Sciatica, Numbness, Tingling, and even Disc Bulges and Herniations.

Why is Back Alignment Important?

The first place I look when someone has these symptoms is to check for proper back alignment. Now why is proper alignment so important? Here are the reasons why a properly aligned back is vital to your overall health.

One – The nerves from your back not are not only pain nerves. The same nerves travel to vital organs in your body. For example, if you noticed any digestive issues along with your back pain that might not be a coincidence. That might mean the nerves there are being pinches causing the communication system in your body to break down. So an improperly aligned back can lead to symptoms that impact your health and your day-to-day life.

Two – when your back curve is in the ideal alignment it acts as like shock absorber. So as you go through life a proper curve will allow full range of motion and prevent injuries from occurring in the first place.

How Do We Diagnose Back Pain?

Here’s my three-step process to figure out and begin to diagnose what’s your causing your back pain.

First, we’ll do a consultation, so I can get a clear picture of what’s going on and start doing some investigating as to why.

Second, I’ll evaluate the motion in your spine. I’m trained to detect areas that are not moving properly.

Third, we will perform a Digital motion x-ray. With this technology I am able to see exactly if there is a bone not moving in your back and pinpoint and draw up a perfect plan of care for your individual case.

How Do We Fix Back Pain?

Now most importantly, we want to Fix your back pain! Here’s my approach for that.

First, we gotta get your back to have the proper alignment. This means all of the bones in your back need to be moving and we need to get the curve in your back as close to where it needs to be.

Secondly, we need make sure you have proper posture. When I look at posture we want you to have perfect posture standing, sitting, and moving. Any imbalances there need to be corrected and retrained so you can maintain proper posture without having to consciously correct yourself.

Third, we want our corrections to last. So I will prescribe exercises and stretches customized for you based on what I find with x-ray and with posture analysis.
